Upon the request of the University of Portsmouth, Minister Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar met on Thursday 25th of January 2018 at the London Cultural Bureau with the President and Vice-President of the University to tackle the opportunity of opening a branch in Egypt. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Salehin and Dr. Reem Bahgat. The University of Portsmouth has made it clear that the University focuses on Applied Science and that Space Science and Geoscience comes second after Oxford University. It is also famous for cybercrime, financial insurance, criminology, biophysics, law and business administration. It has a good college of nursing but does not offer medical studies. The representatives of the university elaborated their desire for a long-term relationship and commitment with Egypt in the field of higher education and scientific research; Where the Minister confirmed the government's mutual support regarding this matter.
