Organized by the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, H.E Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghafar visited the Francis Creek Biomedical Research Foundation on Thursday,25th of January 2018, with Dr. Mohammed Salehin and Prof. Reem Bahgat. The delegation was received by Sir Paul Neris, Executive Director of the Foundation and Nobel laureate, who gave a presentation on the institution, which was founded in 2016 with governmental funding and in partnership with the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research Foundation, Wellcome Trust, UCL University, Imperial College London and Kings College London. The Foundation has 3 Nobel Prize-winning researchers and 90 researchers of global scientific status and a total of 1050 researchers. The Foundation is keen to link its research with the industry, especially the pharmaceutical industry. The delegation was pleased to meet with one of the researchers at the institution, the Egyptian doctoral student Duaa Marei of the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, who came to the United Kingdom two months ago on the grant of Newton Mosharafa and registered at UCL. The delegation visited the institution's labs and the student gave a scientific explanation for the research carried out by the Foundation.
